HELP!!! Reality TV Halloween costume overload!!!!

As a rookie to the game of parenthood, I still live in a fantasy land. The fantasy being that my child will do exactly what I want him to...without fussing of course =)

So lets go ahead deal with reality, shall we? On the subject of holidays, I am aware that after a certain time, I will no longer have the control to choose certain things. For example, his first birthday will probably be the only birthday party I will get to plan the way I have envisioned it.

Now do get me wrong, if Knox looks at me one day and says he wants to have a "Thomas The Train" birthday party, then he is going to get a "Thomas The Train" birthday party. I may cringe at the unoriginality of these generic commercial type themed parties, but if it makes him happy, then I am more than stoked to see his big eyes light up when he walks in the room filled with nothing but "Thomas The Train" crap. I mean I will throw him the most kick ass "Thomas The Train" party to ever exist!

But this year I am going to take advantage of my creative freedom...which brings me to Knoxs Halloween costume!

I love me some reality TV! The way I like to describe Reality TV is...well, its like your brains junk food...its addictive, its bad for you, and it taste great! In other words...my brain might need to have Lap-Band surgery...because it does not know when to STOP!

So, I have chosen 3 of my favorite reality TV stars as Knoxs Halloween costume...but I cant decide on which one...

 Number 1: Billy the Exterminator

I mean really?...look at him!...need I say more? If you have never watched this show...you suck! I remember seeing Billy on "Dirty Jobs" and thinking "This guy NEEDS his own show!" Look at that uniform! Could you imagine if you called for an exterminator and that shows up?! I would be thrilled.

Now I actually found a mini mullet wig...I have also found some studded bracelets and bandannas. As for the shirt, you can buy the decal online...so ill just make the shirt myself. Also, Mark had the idea of Knox carrying around a bucket of snakes or something...genius!

Contestant number 2: Bruce Mitchell from "Swamp People"

Again, if you have not see this show you suck! I enjoy any show where the people speak English but still need subtitles to understand what they are saying.
With Bruce here, the costume looks pretty simple...
  • American flag bandanna
  • cutoff overalls
  • and Crocs
I was thinking Knox could carry around a stuffed gator or something...you know, to help people out if they have no clue what hes suppose to be. Maybe ill even turn a wagon into a boat!!! =D

Last but no least! Number 3: Zak Bagan from "Ghost Adventures"

I always say that if I could have any job in the world, it would be this...a reality TV ghost hunter!
Why is "Ghost Adventures" my favorite? Because Zak and his crew are the most animated ghost hunters I have ever seen. I love that they will take their footage, slow it down, drawn an arrow or circle around something, and get all excited...because honestly...there's never anything there. The best part is when Zak starts having a conversation with the "ghost"...he acts like a drunk guy about to start a bar fight.

I'm guessing Zaks costume would look something like this:
  • Stick on tribal tattoos
  • A douchey skull shirt (as shown in above picture)
  • A belt buckle with something equally as douchey as the skull shirt (maybe a dragon?)
  • And big baggy carpenter jeans. Like who the hell wears those anymore?!....its gross. If you are still throwin' it back and wearing your Old Navy carpenter jeans (and you are not a carpenter or Jesus) then you need to have a discussion with yourself...cause those are NOT cute.

  1. LOVE your comments about Bruce, my brother. Look us up on facebook. (David Mitchell) of Ponchatoula La. See collection of pictures of Bruce. Wish my job would let me dress like him.

  2. Thanks for taking the time out to read my blog and to leave a comment!!! In the end, I chose to make the 'Bruce Mitchell' costume (no competition there). I think the costume/boat turned out amazing (since I am his mother, my vote might not count). Of course I am already a Facebook friend of Bruce, and I put some pictures of the costume on his Facebook page, I hope he enjoyed them.

P.S. If I could pull it off, I would dress like Bruce everyday of my life...for the rest of my life.
